Pro Athlete Sessions
We take our work with pro athletes to heart. An athlete’s performance, efficiency, injury prevention, movement skill development, relationship with gravity, neuromuscular patterning, longevity, resilience and adaptability is our business. This includes ‘in season’ game/practice preparation and recovery, as well as making ‘off season’ gains.
Good movement is not just about strength and weakness. We teach connectivity, awaken dormant tissues, calm overactive tissues, free restrictions, increase mobility, optimize movement organization, and create the space and opportunity for the most efficient movement patterning to take place. Our sessions use a unique and proven combination of manual therapy and movement education to help our athletes maximize and enhance their potential.
Student Athlete Sessions
Working with young athletes is a passion of ours because we can literally help change their trajectory. As an athlete your body is your instrument, yet very little is taught in sports or training about how it actually works and moves. We aim to ‘teach,’ build awareness in what good movement feels like so that an athlete can choose to take or not take particular cues given by the many trainers and coaches they will encounter throughout their sport. We make the athlete the expert about themselves which keeps them empowered and in the game. In addition we use both manual therapy and movement education to aid in coming back from injuries, preventing injuries, and help remove compensation patterning from old injuries that aren’t relevant anymore.
Yes we can help an athlete get back out there after an injury, but we prefer to give them the skills to not miss time in their sport in the first place.
“Working with Kaylee over the years has been an absolute blessing to our boys. Like most, we came to her originally to help “fix a specific thing,” but quickly learned that her approach was very different in that was never her focus (simply to “fix” and move on). While things still get fixed as a part of working with her, it’s the way she has taught our boys how to be more in tune with their bodies to begin with. I’ve watched them learn what good movement is vs the forced movement they’ve always been taught through years of the training they’ve done to become bigger, faster, stronger, and ultimately better at their sports. She teaches the “why” and the “how” behind movement in a way that makes sense, often leading to an “ah-hah” moments for them. She has taught them the application of movement and the need for mobility & stability, which has helped remove unnecessary compensation patterns while ultimately making them better moving athletes AND keeping them on the field!”

Structural Functional Bodywork™
Structural Functional Bodywork is an approach to balance created by Kaylee Cahoon that allows clients to benefit from some of the concepts of both Structural and Functional Integration without committing to the full 10 session series of Structural Integration / Rolf Method. Promoting whole body connectedness through the manipulation of fascia along with gentle movements, this bodywork aims to bring specific areas of your body that are calling for attention by way of pain, dysfunction or discomfort back into the whole structure. The number of sessions needed varies based on the individual but even one session typically makes improvement.
In order to address and impact the entire structure and a lifetime of habits and history, the (10) series of Structural Integration / Rolf Method is recommended.
Structural Functional Bodywork™ has been used to successfully treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, pain, and dysfunctions such as Plantar Fasciitis, Tendinitis, Tendinosis, Bursitis, nerve entrapment, thoracic outlet syndrome, scoliosis, TMJ pain, Fibromyalgia, general back pain, and other pain and/or dysfunction associated with the connective tissue, bad posture, and limitations to range of motion and mobility.

Structural Integration / Rolfing® (10) Series
Structural Integration (SI) and the Rolf Method are a scientifically validated body therapy that is performed in a (10) session protocol and focuses not on muscles, but on fascia or connective tissues. Fascia surrounds every tissue in the body including the bones, muscles, and organs. Fascia also creates separation between vessels, organs, bones and muscles and space through which delicate nerves, blood vessels and fluids pass through.
Structural Integration / Rolf Method aims to separate, change the resting tension of the fascia, and reeducate the brain in how fascia connects through the body in order to achieve more efficient alignment, balance in the structure, and to facilitate healthy movement.
In (10) sessions, an SI practitioner can touch into much of a body’s fascial net giving it a newfound sense of awareness, freedom and ease. Each session follows a general protocol based on the brilliant work of Ida Rolf. At SMARTCore® we have both certified Rolfers and Structural Integrators.
“With years of life under our belts, we tend to stack up a good number of self-limiting habits, postures, traumas, and injuries. Our body is a manuscript of our life’s experiences and can in itself become self-limiting. Because life is constantly moving and flowing, change is inevitable. It is possible to release both physical and emotional holding in the body that does not serve us in the present without diminishing the significance of those past experiences that helped shape who we are in the world. Lightening the load on your body and mind through the (10) series of Structural Integration / Rolf Method can be one of the most freeing and empowering things you ever do for yourself.”
